We chose to create Ranks for our Forum for 2 simple reasons.
1. Common Level of Understanding
2. Priority in Response
1. Common Level of Understanding
One of the things that new people do not contribute in forum, because there is this hidden assumption that "he who posts more-knows more". It could simply be "he who posts more-is more free".
Hence, to encourage more postings from non-heavy posters, we give ranks so that they do not have to explain basic points again and again, and everyone can see the "Street cred" level beyond the number of posts you make.
2. Priority in Response
To use this as a facilitation platform for learning, and in consideration of the real human hours that we each only have 24 hours a day to live, trade, and educate.
This is the priority level of posts reply:
Cat 1: L-Plates
Cat 2: Grads/ Pre-Booked
Cat 3: Pedestrians
So, basically L-Plates get the most care, because they need to do their homework today!!! ... Grads usually will figure it out themselves sooner or later.. or their classmates will help them :P.. if not, we will come in! ... Pedestrians... well.. we give you free look in our forum already... so, gotta wait in queue.
Cheers,
Winston

Stage 2 - "Freedom of Speech is for poor people."
Stage 3 - Freedom? Why limit ourselves with Freedom?
