Hi,

I am finding the the price for this pair for the 10-20 years history record. I would like to find an entry price for this pair for carry trades:).

Any one know which web site to get those history records?

Thanks

hey kp,

I was just checking around, but I can't find 20 years, mostly 10 years.

Maybe someone else could help.

How long are you planning to carry? You could probably do with less years for your charting?

cheers,

winston

HI Winston,

How are u doing? Thanks for the update. I manage to use interbank fx demo to check on past years, for maybe 8 years...

I find NZD is good for carry trades. I would like to search for a low point to enter and keep it as long as possible , but if reaches high(like 0.90 for NZD/yen) I will let go also.

But now New zealand is in recession. I wonder how low it will go.

Wat do u think?

Thanks

hey kpwalker!

i'm doing good.. just two weeks ago, i was wondering how you are doing too.

YEah the NZD is interesting.

How low... hmm.. i didnt see the chart yet... what i would do, is do the fibs/SR on the weekly... and see the possible ranging amount if i'm considering a carry.

cheers,

winston

I read somewhere that doing carry trades is like picking nickels in front of a bulldozer ...

how true is that?

Is there a better way of doing it like borrowing at low interest from Japanese bank, then
investing in govt bonds issued by NZD?

Hey szehao!

haha.. technically yes... you can do what you said... only a few speed bumps along the way.

Jap Bank >> (will want collateral) >> give you yen... then (carry the money to a bank with NZD Fixed D?

.. And after the whole process... you still have to change it back to something?

So, the whole carry trade process makes it efficient...

as for the bulldozer... yes.. it depends on the market sentiment.... the key thing is that you need a flat market throughout the duration of your carry.

then there is the question of your leverage.

.. can talk more in class... in the concept is simple.. it is the volatility that affects the returns.

cheers,
